Even if you are new in Dallas, or have lived there in your entire life, you are stil going to ask questions about the car insurance in Dallas. Questions like: do I need an auto insurance if I dont have a car, or what happens if I get into accident which is not my fault but the other does not have an insurance. You will need to know these things and should be aware before getting an insurance from insurance companies. These are some of the examples of issues that you will need to be aware of.

Is auto insurance required?

Yes. It is required for all drivers. Texas law requires that all drivers must have an insurance on their vehicles and at least carry the minimum liability coverage. This is often called the 20/40/15 and this coverage covers the minimum policy up to $20,000 per injured person$40,000 for all that is hurt in the accident$15,000 covers property damage
This type of auto insurance however does not cover you but the victims only due to accidents that you have caused.

If for example he medical bills and other property damage associated in the accidents exceeded the minimum amount on your liability coverage, you are responsible to pay the additional costs. You may be sued if you cant afford it. To avoid this however, you can purchase an additional coverage beyond what is required by law.

who needs auto insurance?

When you get involved in an accident, you will need to show proof of your insurance or coverage. The other driver involved in the accident will then take down all your information and will file a claim to your insurance company. The following are some scenarios in which you will need to show proof of your auto insurance in Texas.

- You are asked by a police officer. If you are asked to pull over for any reason by a police officer, the first question he will asked for is your driving license and your car insurance proofs. You will be issued a ticket if you failed to show any cr insurance.

-when you need to register your car or have it renewed, it is mandatory that you show proof of insurance . If you do not have it, your car registration will expire and may be ticketed when get caught by a police officer.

- when obtaining or renewing your drivers license, you are also required by the law to show proof of insurance otherwise you cannot drive legally.

- you cannot get your car inspected if you do not show any proof of insurance. Your inspection sticker are visible in your windshield. if it expires and got caught , you will need to provide proof of insurance to a police officer.

Therefore, you just cant get around having no insuranc eon your car in Texas and the law requires that all drivers must have it and they have developed different ways to constantly checked.

Goodluck!
